My wife and I have seen two different counselors over the past year and I’m starting to think there is nothing they can do. I’m curious to know how other people feel about their marriage counseling experiences. Did it help or not? Why or why not?

BTW – We’ve only been married for one year!

As one who has helped many troubled couples over many years, I can tell you this; marriage counseling cannot perform miracles and make a troubled marriage perfect. Both must enter counseling with an open mind and heart and both must want the same result, to save your marriage or it will never work. Both must be willing to do whatever it takes to save it, or it will become a disaster. True some marriages are doomed at the start, but every marriage is worth trying to save. You must find one common bond and grow from it. Nothing is guaranteed in life so sometimes people must fight for what they believe in and want, especially in todays age when divorces are the easy answer and easier to get. Counseling wont solve all your problems but will help and teach you how to work thru them or how to deal with them. I have about a 95% success rate in saving relationships when both want the same outcome and have brought several back from hell. Most of all remember that together your love can conquer all if you give it a chance. Also after only 1 year, try lowering your expectations a little. Good luck

We dated for 2 years before we got married and lived together most of that time and we’ve now been married almost a year but we fight ALL the time about love and communication. Is it meant to be? Should we try counseling? Does it work?

Counseling can work if both people are committed to fixing the relationship. Just because you need counseling after only a year doesn’t mean the marriage is doomed. Marriage isn’t easy and it takes a lot of work. If you’re willing to do the work, the marriage will last.

Does anyone know where the script for the scene marriage counseling is? I think it’s called marriage counseling. It’s a two person scene- guy and girl. They’re at a marriage counselor and they argue constantly. The guy ends up saying he went to a prostitute and the girl says she went to a lawyer. If you find it will you please give me the website you found it on? THANK YOU SO MUCH!

My boyfriend performed it this year on our Speech Team but we just kind of had the script around. I don’t think we got it offline.
