Styles that people parade around in are subjective; people might find said styles to be the most cutting-edge things in the world while others will scoff at how ugly they find them. From a simple shirt and pants fusion to intricate wedding dresses, there is a certain faux pas or two to be mindful of. Engagement rings, which people may notice swiftly, walk a fine line as well. They can either be discreet and sweet or loud and obnoxious and finding a balance might be easier if one looks at some of the rings that simply try too hard.
It’s typical for wedding dresses to be extravagant; while they are fancy, they are only worn for a one-off occasion when the words, “I do,” are uttered. However, the rings given before the big day tend to be loud for much longer thanks to celebrities. Kim Kardashian’s ring, for example, apparently cost her spouse Kris Humphries a pretty penny since it values in at $2 million. The 20.5 carat diamond ring is spectacular in cost, no question about it, but what kind of operation does it have outside of looks? Maybe going a few carats less would make it look like less of a radiant eyesore.
Back in 2004, Jennifer Aniston was displaying an engagement ring given to her by Brad Pitt and while this one isn’t as noticeable as Kim’s, it is still a noteworthy piece of jewelry. Apparently, Pitt gave Aniston a ring that has a unique, to say the least, bend and loop to it. This is a case of a ring that isn’t exactly loud in the amount of carats it has but the shape it takes on. Just last year, however, Aniston was seen with a new ring that is simpler than the curved rock that once rested on her finger.
In order to find the most optimal engagement rings, a few rules of thumb have to be kept in mind. First element of note is the style. It’s not too hard to find the right look; a simpler ring might be the best choice and unless the giver is going to make huge strides, going for something along the lines of a heart-shaped gem will seem childish. The size has to be taken into account as well, though this is more immanent. Some people want to have a diamond on their finger that will catch countless eyes once light bounces off of it. These are only a couple of rules to make note of.
Living a lavish lifestyle and holding onto the desire to buy the best of everything isn’t a crime. However, there has to be a limit as to how much is sufficient to show off before ascending to, simply, too high a level. Celebrity examples such as Kardashian and Aniston show just where one might have to draw a line not to cross. Not only do celebrities serve as models not to follow to a tee, but there are rules for couples to keep in mind so that they don’t make regretful choices thousands of dollars later.
